Control Room of Broadcasting House, London

1980 Views of Broadcasting House Control Room

SB Position
The first two of these 1980 shots show the Simultaneous Broadcast position which can also be seen in the first picture on the Memories page.

SB Position
right: On the left of the picture is MSP - the Miscellaneous Switching Position. This selected sources to destinations which couldn't select sources themselves - lines, studio outside sources, etc.

Router Display
left: Above the front bench was a router display. Each destination had its own display, which showed the source code of whatever was switched to it. This allowed the MSP operator to check what was switched to each destination. The display also included destinations which had their own source switching such as the continuities and the mixer studios.
