The first two of these 1980 shots show the Simultaneous Broadcast position which can also be seen in the first picture on the Memories page.
right: On the left of the picture is MSP - the Miscellaneous Switching Position. This selected sources to destinations which couldn't select sources themselves - lines, studio outside sources, etc.
left: Above the front bench was a router display. Each destination had its own display, which showed the source code of whatever was switched to it. This allowed the MSP operator to check what was switched to each destination. The display also included destinations which had their own source switching such as the continuities and the mixer studios.
