The Type A Mark V desk in Studio 3 is seen in the early 1970s. The studio was a great mainstay of Manchester's Network Radio output. It was used for some drama production but mainly for current affairs programmes such as "Word In Edgeways" presented by Brian Redhead. "Womens Hour" was produced in Manchester at this time by Gillian Hush. The studio was used on Saturdays as a mixer for the R4 North Region Sport Round Up programme.
